Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a powerful moisturising agent, which appears naturally in the dermis maintaining hydration and skin tone. With age the skin dries out and becomes fragile and wrinkles start to appear. Fillers can be used to fill out facial lines and wrinkles and plump up lips. No pre-test is required as the hypoallergenic gel is so similar to our body’s own natural HA. The effect is not permanent as the filler biodegrades slowly over time.
Emma uses Juverderm fillers, which are by far one of the most popular and widely used fillers on the market. This treatment may be used for
- Softening fine lines in any area of the face (e.g. forehead & frown lines)
- Eradicating wrinkles around the lips (e.g. smoker’s lines)
- Reducing Naso-labial (nose to mouth lines)
- Marionette lines (mouth to chin)
- Lifting the corners of the mouth
- Enhancing thin lips
What does treatment involve
Emma will first apply a topical anaesthetic cream to the area to be treated and allow it to take effect for about 20-30 minutes. The dermal filler is then injected with a very fine needle. The treatment will take from 15-30 minutes depending on the extent of coverage. Dermal filler start to work immediately, so you will notice the result right after treatment. However this will depend on swelling once the swelling resolves, the results are evident. You will not be able to see the final result until approximately 1-2 weeks.
How long will the treatment last
The effects of the dermal fillers can last up to 6 to 12 months depending on age, skin type and life styles factors.
Emma offers a full consultation prior to treatment to chat about your concerns, assess your needs and answer any questions you may have. This attracts a £30 reservation fee payable in advance, which is then redeemable against any treatments.
